Zakiya plays an integral role in delivering specialized dementia care through

person-centered care fosters warmth, connection and joy for residents.

Walter Ochoa, Owner of Right at Home Brooklyn
By turning his vision into reality, Walter has been assisting adults of all ages
in the greater New York City area who find themselves in need of care at
home for nearly two decades. He will share how exceptional home care
services can help improve quality of life.

Adam Smith, PhD, Investigator for Richmond Behavioral Associates
Dr. Smith is a clinical psychologist and graduate from Nova Southeastern
University who has conducted research that specializes in examining
new investigational medications for the treatment of memory loss and
Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Smith also specializes in behavioral treatments
for psychiatric issues in Alzheimer’s disease.

Christina Carangelo, PT, DPT, LSVT BIG® Certified Clinician,
FOX Rehabilitation
Christina treats a variety of acute and chronic neurological, orthopedic, and
cardiovascular conditions. Utilizing evidence-based practices, she works
closely with occupational and speech therapists to ensure the best possible
treatment plans for patients living with cognitive impairments.

Mina Soliman, Pharmacist and Owner of Vine Rx
Mina has over a decade of experience in clinical hospital pharmacy, intensive
care practice, pharmacy management, and community pharmacy leadership.
Having worked in major pharmacy chains, and now as an independent
pharmacy owner, he brings an understanding of medication safety,
personalized care coordination, and patient advocacy.

Rena Appel Schainholz, LCSW, Senior Program Officer for Older Adult
Services for Ohel Children’s Home and Family Services
Rena brings over 35 years of experience in supporting older adults,
including those with dementia. She is dedicated to enhancing well-being
for seniors facing physical and mental health challenges, as well as the
changes life brings as we age.

Dr. Zhanneta Shapiro, Partner at Audiology Island
Dr. Shapiro, proudly representing the area’s premier hearing health clinic, will discuss the correlation between hearing health and dementia. Through exceptional patient care and advanced research, Audiology Island is a leader in the field.
