Improv & Empathy: Dementia Communication Essentials for Caregivers

Thursday, February 27 at 6:00 pm

Presented by PSS Circle of Care
Jennifer Sanchez, BSSW, CDCS, & Julianna Bartels, MA

Communicating with a person with dementia can bring a unique set of challenges.

If you would like to learn a creative approach to these challenges, please join us at The Brielle for a thought-provoking introduction to the “Dementia Raw” Method, presented by PSS Circle of Care. Team members will provide an overview of the method which equips caregivers to handle everyday challenges while focusing on creating connection and simplifying communication using the rules of improv comedy and the pillars of empathy.

This technique, developed by the Silver Dawn Training Institute, equips professionals and family caregivers with a new way to communicate with those with memory impairment: the art of improvisation.

Enjoy dinner on us! Join us for the conversation and dine as our guest.
